After going out and getting a brand new computer to run second life with(since my old comp was barely emulating the minimum requirements) and spending far more money then i could afford, i find out that my new video card isnt even supported!!
further invenstigation showed me that only two kinds of cards (of course, the most expensive ones) are the only two suported (out of the few dozen available!)

why so little video support?? does LL really NOT want to make any real money, or spread itself out to a larger group?? this is totally redicoulous. i feel like a moron now for having spent all this money on something that turned out to be a total waste. because of the total lack of support, ive had to cancle my plans to buy an island, wich means LL lost itself annother 1500$...

are they even going to bother looking to this kind of thing, and possibly update SL to run on a few more common cards? or is this all just a big waste of my (and many of the people i've refered) time and money??

SL should run on the two most common manufacters of video cards, nvidia and ati, entry level cards from these manufacturers are about 40$us, while some intel graphics chipsets do work it isnt supported, as these are mostly slower onboard solutions, the same goes for sis chipsets which are just not powerfull enough to display a 3d realtime enviroment, resulting in some texture corruption and other issues.

Nvidia and ATI make up something like 95% of the video card market. they're the de facto standards. An integrated intel or SiS chipset chokes and dies when forced to render SL, or really almost any other modern game.
