There should be an ability to turn group IMs on and off. It could be in the groups menu and allow the user to select groups they want to turn on or off IM notifications. Vote for this at:

I support this idea. There are times when folks want to receive group IMs, other times no. The ability to toggle this off/on per group would be very nice.

Currently, the only way to avoid group 'spam' is to leave a group. Which is in some cases, undesireable.

Glad you proposed that. I was just about to do the same. So you've got my vote.

I like being a member of a group but at times like to enjoy an intimate moment with a friend or a one to one chat.

Unfortunately IM from some of my groups can be intrusive. I would still like to receive a personal IM, but when I am alone with a good friend, a request from a group member about what is going on at the club followed by 5 replies and 20 requests for a TP kinda kills the romance.

I will be voting for that one.

Group IMs

:( There is nothing more frustrating than all of the group IMs that go on. I agree there should be a way to turn them off. It has caused me to leave a few groups which I really enjoye.

Some of the members seem to use the group IM as a way of chatting and it is very annoying.

Thanks,
Sumar
