Snap to Ground, Snap to Edge

So of course I need to do more than just gripe about the horrid 1.6 bulding tools. Honestly, building in SL could and should be as easy as snapping together Lego blocks.

Put the edge of the prim you're editing near the edge of an already placed prim and Snap to Edge.

Why does it need to be tedious work to lower a prim to exactly ground level? Instead of trying to rely on the unreliable Grid; Snap to Ground.

Sorry if I'm being too obvious or too naive, but the 1.6 tools make a needlessly complex process even more so.

New Suggestion for Lindens: Read This Forum
06-05-2005 16:58
From: someone
Quote from Town Hall meeting:
"Jeska Linden: Dave Eisenberg: The new ability to snap objects to the grid was a good idea that helped in building, but will there be a way to snap objects together, without messing around with the coordinates. (to snap 2 cubes together at the center, corners and cente
Jeska Linden: r sides)
Exposition Linden: That's an excellent suggestion and when we have the resources to improve the building tools that is almost certainly one that we will take on. Note that you can create an object directly next to an existing one."

So, I was reading the Town Hall notes and noticed that someone suggested my idea of being able to automatically snap prims together. Expo acted like it had never been suggested before, and enthusiastically embraced it. Yet, my original post here never received any reply.

So my new suggestion to the Lindens is that they actually read the suggestions posted in this forum. Who knows, there might be one or two other good ideas floating around.
