something different besides tropical island sims and snow sims. the mountain sims in tethys, mimas, and enceladus were never added to. why? sea cliffs, fiords, mountains, like maine or norway. variation does help. ty

As boring as it may seem, I think a huge flat expanse of flat desert would be cool. Mountains and islands are easy on the eye, but I am sure plenty would like some nice flat or semi-flat land to work with.

If anyone wants to see what can be done with mountains and steep slopes, take a look at Enceladus and Seacliff.

Im not really knocking mountain builds, some can be really cool. Im just thinking that some might like to start with some flat land. Most of the plots that have become available in the past six months or so require some fairly creative means to have a successful build. A desert theme is not my idea, some have asked for it in the past. In the spirit of this thread topic, it would not hurt to see some fairly flat desert or slightly rolling prairie lands.

Actually, I agree. I'm with Kandahar, I want to see diversity -- every type of terrain.
A while ago someone suggested "planetary sims" -- moons of Jupiter and Saturn, Mars, etc. I like that idea -- but it takes guts and imagination to do it. . . .

we are seeing diversity.. i know it seems like we have all tropical and snow sims.. and mountains.. but before we started asking for diversity, we didn't have even these places. originally it was all flat/hilly land, diversity wasn't present really at all. people would terraform their land wildly and create bizarre landscapes. now we have themed sims popping up all over the place! we have Nova Albion, the mountainous/craggy moon sims, the tropical islands, the snow sims.. we're seeing a trend where there is a geographical theme to each new set of sims to come online. so, we're already seeing the diversity happening.. it just takes time for different styles to be created and implemented. - but, do i want to see even more diversity than what we have now? sure! i also figure we're going to see it anyway. we don'thave to convince them to be diverse with new sims.. all we have to do now is suggest different ideas. i like the idea of the desert sims and predict that we'll see them soon enough. we kind of have the idea of plains already.. some of the original sims are close to it, but it would be cool to see specific "plains" sims come online. the whole planetary thing may have to wait until SL is huge enough to warrant entire new continents that have continental telehubs and can afford to be of seperate origin. some other ideas: expand Nova Albion by 2 sims have a major rock formation within the desert sims a small set of scorched earth sims, set to damage-enabled and Mature ..that's all for now folks.
