This ought to tickle someone's fancy at LL: A feature that might help cut down on "Garbage" data.
Who here has some few thousand items in their inventory, but no idea where all that clutter is and doesn't have or feel like taking the time to search it out /and/ clean it up? Well, this should be a simple thing to add: Poll within folder.
Pretty much the same function as if you right-clicked a folder in windows to look at it's properties. Gives you a count on how many items are in that folder, and it's subdirectories, and thus a much better picture of where you need to look at cleaning up old data.
[Edit] The function as I imagine would be something like this: Highlight the folder you want to query, click a checkbox next to Search that reads something like, oh... "Limit to folder", and from there the search function works as it normally does, showing you only results inside that folder and an item total for it.
Its taken me about a month of off and on poking at my own inventory to clean it down to the point I have, taking out duplicates of things and boxing up old, unused items to cut down the count. And that was just getting it down from nearly 9000, to about 6500 as of this post.
Where in the devil I still have that many items is a mystery to me, though I'm betting on the bulk of it to be gathered in Gestures, Objects, and Textures as my least organized folders.
I know there are people ot there with FAR more to stare down, so much in fact that to look at the overall number for their inventory makes it seem just plain prohibitive, to try and invest the time it would take to sort it out. A feature like this would, I hope, help it to "not seem so bad" since they could view it in smaller chunks.
