a "test your connection to SL" webpage

Many of the issues I've been reading about in the forums sound like network issues. Is it possible that LL could have a "test your connection to SL" webpage that would measure round-trip times, packet loss, and such?

The page might show a graph of "what type of SL experience you can expect at your current level of connectivity" with levels being something like "great," "fair," "poor," "unacceptable."

Maybe the page could have a "submit these results to LL" button. Not to expect a reply from LL, but to allow LL to collect connection data over time.

Does anyone think this kind of page may be a good idea?

I'm not sure I understand why this would want to be done through a web page, instead of right inside the SL client...

I'd like this to be in the client itself.
Why?
"Ping sim: 10,000" and I'm still logged in with no errors; WTF?

If there were a connection tester it could log me out and even try to re-establish a connection that was interupted (my avatar would stay in world still sitting on objects and be visable and IMable durring the reconnection).

It would be cool to have it in the client, also.
