When you drop an item of clothing from inventory onto the ground, what do you get? A white box that says "Clothing" on it. Why can't we just have the item of clothing itself rez onto the ground? That would be great for displaying clothes in a store! You could position the clothes onto a shelf and then mark them for sale. No fumbling through a box to get the items out, just buy it and it goes directly into clothes!

James, wouldn't that require a 3D model of each type of clothing since they're only textures now and not really meshes that cover your avatar? Maybe a better solution would be the mannequin route. You could have an "average" male and female torso and lower body and be able to combine the two for a full mannequin. Make the models similar to our own and allow us to map the textures onto them in the usual way. It would be like a chopped up avatar with no one driving it.
Actually that sounds kind of creepy. O.o

How about a Manequin object, similar to the Tree and Grass objects, which you rez for $10 and then drop a texture onto it. There'd be: Male Upper Body, Male Lower Body, Male Full Body, Female Upper Body, Female Lower Body, Female Full Body, Male Head, Female Head. (Full Body includes head).
