Shiny/REflective Surface Option for Clothing

Would you like to see Shiny/reflective as an option for clothes/skins

Yes, that would enhance the game.

I wanted to propose a shiny/reflective option for clothing and skins, in addition to the one already available for prims.

There are quite a few avitar skins and lots of clothing would certainly benefit from this feature.

Think of how it would change the look of metalized skins, or how it would make PVC clothing appear to actually shine under lights.

I'm not that familiar with game design and how everything works or why, but to be sure this cant be that hard to incorporate, and it would add a whole new demention to the look and feel of clothes and skins.

absolutely, voted yes! i would love the shine to change ingame, to use shiny maps instead of the generic shine that exists.

I has suggested something similar for the full bright. ^^ Though one thing I wish about the shiny was that they'd step it down. Because the "low shine" is actually VERY shiny.

And how about "not shiny"?

The avatar model in the new shader code is already too shiny. Shadows are exaggerate, there are shadows in impossible places, and there's horrible hilights whenever you're near a light.

I think you should not only be able to apply the same texture settings to any avatar texture (including clothes layers!) that you can to a prim surface, but you should also be able to request "matte shading" to turn off the overdone shadows and hilights.
