My wife and I have a sim. I am listed as the owner so my wife cannot SET HOME HERE. The only current work around is to set my home and then sell the land to her, let her set HOME, then sell the land back to me. Unfortuanly we are renting so I cant set the land for sale to her and would have to bother the landlord. Also we dont want to deed it to GROUP.
An option under WORLD/ABOUT LAND/ACCESS that says 'ALLOW OTHERS TO SET HOME HERE 'would be nice.

I believe if you create a group, then set the land to group, those in the group can set thier home if you have the privilage checked in the group tools.
ETA: Setting the land to group DOES NOT deed it to group.
ETA again: Also, you can allow others to set home in the land tools.

Setting Home

Dearly Darlings,
What we did was allow the land to make landmarks. My RL sister and her husband hop "home" before they log off and then use the "Log on into last location" function at start up. Works for us.
Ever Yours,
Mrs. Showdog Tiger

It's been a month or so since I checked Seola, but the functionality you describe was broken when Group Roles were introduced. Since then (September-ish?), land had to be deeded to the group in order to allow members of the group to set it as home location. The old method of using the Set button no longer worked.
Dargon's recommendation for a "ALLOW OTHERS TO SET HOME HERE" option under Land controls is a good one. Everything else (allow create objects, run scripts, etc.) from beneath the same Group Roles category is there, so why not that? It doesn't make sense.
