Proposal Number: 321
Add a top level folder to the inventory window, Groups. Under Groups would be a folder for each group the av belongs to. For example...
+ Groups . + Dread Pirates . . + Clothing . . . Revenge shirt . . . Black boots . . + Objects . . . Duelling Sword . . + Textures . . . Jolly Roger Flag . + Edifice Rex . . + Notecards . . . Ballot Template + Library + My Objects
Items with copy/trans permissions could be moved or copied to the group inventory, which would make them available to group members.
Rezzed objects that are deeded to group that are returned would go back to the group inventory, rather than disappearing completely.
Items deleted from group folders would be available in each av's trash until it is emptied.
Maybe only officers can add/move/delete items in group folders. Just thinking...

See I've asked about this at a town hall ages ago, emailed it, per request, in a long list of compiled group code proposals to a Linden design team several months ago, and posted it in numerous feature suggestion threads, and NOW I have to go vote for it on a website to the exclusion of other necessary features.
I just really finally completely give up. Linden Lab can develop the Second Life software any way they like. It will make no difference to me whatsoever.

From: Khamon Fate See I've asked about this at a town hall ages ago, emailed it, per request, in a long list of compiled group code proposals to a Linden design team several months ago, and posted it in numerous feature suggestion threads, and NOW I have to go vote for it on a website to the exclusion of other necessary features. I know, this idea has been talked around for a long time. I didn't see it on the feature voting, so I put it up there. But I don't think that this voting process is necessarily a bad way to go. The fact that such an obviously useful idea has gone so long without being implemented speaks to the fact that LL is limited in how much they can accomplish. I like that there is now a visible, open system for documenting which features people want the most. The voting system still has some problems to be smoothed out, but overall I think it's a step in the right direction. Now, if you want to discuss LL's attitude toward feature development or the flaws of the voting system, can you please spawn a separate thread? It would be nice if this one didn't get completely hijacked and the discussion of the group inventory feature get lost in that noise.

Sounds like a good proposal to me. I've never understood what "share with group" does, but this is what I wish it would do. I'll give it a vote or two as soon as I get some votes back from the high priority things I've already voted on, assuming the Lindens ever get around to approving some of them.
