hey I know this is possible becuase because most 3d graphics engines have this capability. I would like to see in the next patch a way to clone at the axis you choose. For example like you want to clone something and you want the same but reversed on the other side. It would be nice to have something like this for building cars and houses.

cheers ,

I believe what you're asking for is duplication options. Most 3D programs (hell, even 2d art programs) allow the option of generating duplicates of objects not just as exact 1-1 copies, but also as rotated, scaled, and translated so that they can come out backwards, upside down, reversed, offset, etc. I suggested this for SL a long time ago but got no response. Hopefully you'll fare better than I did.

Object mirroring is probably the most requested feature these days.

Yeah... it's such a... er... obvious feature?

I was wondering why I couldn't flip things from one side to the other. It'd make a number of geometric structures that demand symmetry a lot easier to create. ^_^

I think it is probably because there are actually some shapes that cant be mirrord.
The only way to make a shape for these that appear to mirror, is basicly to make a totaly different shape and use cuts, twists etc. that are in no way related to the first.
for instance, Rez a ring, go rite down the list of modafiers and put .5 in everything that will accept that value and 1.0 in the others, ALL on the Left side of the options.

Now try to Mirror that shape.

Im not saying this idea is an any way bad, Just putting in my $0.02 as to what its probably already not there.

Personaly i think it would be outright wounderfull.

Lindens Read Pleaaseee

actually its kinda strange they allready have something like it but its only for textures. if they can implement it for objects it would be nice. It is using the repeat per face and using the flip option now if they can use this for objects hmmm.....

( I wonder even if the lindens read any of our suggestions)....
