Creating/updating a csv list is not that difficult of a task. After some observations of the world and 15 minutes of work in Excel, such a list is easily generated. Though it would be nice for them to provide such a list, I think a much better solution is one which Hank has been suggesting rather frequently: a function to get world coordinates from the name of the sim.

Why not have both this and Hank's suggestion, and then a llWorldCoords2RegionName() to round it out? The point is that it's lame to have to fly around to gather all this info, when it can be generated easily at LL's end.

I totally agree with you. I guess I was imagining a situation where we get one or the other. However, I see no reason why they couldn't provide all three solutions. These functions would be so very nice.

yeah,
my mapper uses landmarks and it's a pain to have to go around and collect landmarks each time there is new land.
Also, would be nice if there were some way to download raw's of the land (like what is used to bake them) updating them once every 24 hours. This would eliminate the need for ground mapping scripts. (while we are at it could we get sim stats too?)

If you go to the Add Events page, there's a drop-down list of all the sims your av can set an event in, which should include all the on-grid sims if not all of the islands.
The HTML source includes the coordinates as well as the names. Go try out cURL and you might be able to whip something up.
Unfortunately you've got quite a bit of bouncing around to get to that page, but I'm sure it can be automated. I'd probably do it if I weren't lazy or I didn't have some desire to keep track of the island sims also. (Which you can't always see on Add Events due to estate tools)
