Instant Message Status ("Avitar X has 2 IM boxes active")

The laws of chaos seem to ensure that the all my instant messages come in pairs (or triplets), leaving me trying to hold two conversations at once (and botching both).

I'd like an optional feature that could indicate that an avitar has an instant message box up (and perhaps how many boxes are open).

For example, I want to IM Avitar X. I go to his profile and see he's online. However, I'd also see he has one or more IM boxes open. I conclude this wouldn't be the best time to say hi.

If Avitar X doesn't want the world to know weather or not he's IMing, he can deactivate the feature. IM status= unknown.

Some of us are lazy and don't close our IM tabs when we've finished conversations until there gets to be too many of them to all fit on the screen. For example, I'd probably constantly show as "7 IM windows active".

Plus, too much depends on how deep the conversations are and on the person talking. Me personally, I can have like 5 messages going and its okay to message me because we are responding back and forth like every five minutes. Usually when I am having an in depth conversation with someone I go to where they are and do it face to face.
