With the proposed enhancements to permissions I would like to see a way to make limited edition stuff that is more than just the original. Like if I wanted only 10 prints of my painting to exist in world, ever. If one is lost/deleted it can never be recreated. The others would just be more valuable.

Can't you just rez 10 and set each one to no copy and sell original?

Yes... but if you wanted to make an entire line of items be limited edition, you'd have to either set out X copies of each item... which would be a waste of prims... or manually sell the stuff out of your inventory... which is a pain and hard to market things that way.

I think it's a cool idea. It would be interesting to see a new resell market established as rare things become more valuable.

Spawning may be annoying, but I have to say as a consumer. It really communicates the rarity of an object. Some one purchases the item. Poof it's no longer there to be sold. Plus they can see how many more are left. It's a great way to get an impulse buy.

But it wouldn't be that hard to program a sell script to count down, and stop after so many sells. All that would have to be done is add a global integer, and a increment counter right after the line that hand the person an object. and then right after that check if the number of sells matches a predefined number, and if it dose. Dump the script into an empty state, or just well.. delete the object. But I would never recomened deleting an object.

But then again it would be cool to see an object state that it is one of ___ that way people know how many are really out there. It would also be great to have a way to sell comunity object easly. I'm talking about an object where one person made the chair, another person has made the pose, and a 3rd person has made the script.

Untill we have that ablity. It's going to limit the amount of group projects. Because it's so complicated to sell group ojbects. I think it should be easer for people to work together. After all isn't that what sl is about. Bring the creative people together to build some thing graeter then any one part could?
