I think it'd be cool to be able to tell the last time someone logged in. I was supposed to meet someone earlier this morning so they could point out some land they were interesting in buying. I was about 15 minutes late logging in, but I have no idea if I missed them or if they just didn't show. I've sent them an IM but without any response. Would definetly be helpful. I think you can do it through groups, but It is just the date and not a time if I remember correctly.

Yes. Perhaps only if you have their calling card. But it would be very useful if you are conducting a buisness deal (land purchase) and you want to know if the seller is a major player. So many uses. Is there a way to do this using a script to track a single AV?

pfft. Not perhaps... if this was added, it'd have to be a calling card only feature. Then I'd definitely cancel every last calling card. SL is already too easy for people to spy, track and otherwise keep tabs on you.

On an individual avatar basis, it is unfortunately fairly trivial to script... if you even needed to.
and with email or xml, you could fairly easily dump the data to an analisys routine or a spreadsheet...

This info is already tracked -- Edit > Groups, select a group, click Info> Members, in the "Members:" frame.
It seems like a reasonable thing to have added to the calling cards. Maybe a field that was blanked out unless you actually had their card, as the 'Map' button does now?

I would say Calling Card only option. And add an option for a person to select "Allow this person to see when I was last logged on" or "allow anyone to see when I was last logged on", etc.
Calling Card only, with option to turn it on/off individualy/globaly.
