Since this can be done fairly easily with an algorithm, it's going in Feature Suggestions. ----- Lately, I've noticed a rash of overtly mature events that aren't listed as Mature in the Events Browser. This once again proves that the path of least resistance prevails - people are doing this so their events are not filtered out when "Show Mature" is unchecked, which gives them more exposure at the expense of residents that could care less. As such, perhaps a good fix would be to flag events set in Mature Sims as automatically Mature on the browser. That way, the rest of us wouldn't have to read through all the XXX and Tringo stuff to find events that are actually interesting. ----- An alternative to this, for all of you yelling "I want to host non-mature events here" would be a name check against the owner, sim, and plot for certain "Mature" terms. Obviously, this would be more readily gamed - but at least it's a decent second-runner. Discuss. This is very low priority, but falls into the "would be nice" page in my book.

I understand the frustration but I think this is unworkable on many fronts. It would end up getting down to the level of "if event posted by (insert huge long list of porno hounds), then = mature." This kind of micromanagement is also something that the Lindens are (thankfully) not usually willing to engage in.

To be honest, it's a relatively moot point. I feel web on a prim, when it happens, will open up all the alternatives by residents we need. That said, listing Mature regions as Mature events is a last, temporary stab at some logic to the system on my part, but the relatively low priority of this makes it nearly moot. I figured I'd just say it anyway.

That wouldn't work well in my case, Jeffrey - although I realize I may unique. I run a venue called the Shelter, that is intended to be an alternative to XXX and Tringo locations - and safe for new residents. All of our events are G-rated, mostly newbie or trivia related. We are located in a Mature sim (Isabel) - the reasoning behind it - the majority of our regular visitors are over 30. We wanted to have a place where we can be completely free to enjoy our second lives (just without all the Pixelsex) The absolute last thing I'd want, is to be lumped in together with the Sex clubs out there. I understand that in some respects, I'm already lumped in there by some folks simply by being a 'club' in the first place. But this would just make it worse for me. My reccomendation: Create a "Report Event Abuse" button - similar to what we have in the forums. This button would merely flag an event for review - not automatically remove it. This would minimize the gaming factor while simultaneously minimize moderation requirements. Agreed, however - the event calendar needs attention.

I'm VERY much in favor of this idea. It would help bring inappropriate events to the attention of the Lindens -- sounds simple and clean to me.

Me too. /rubberstamp It could be implemented with a couple pre-filled questions, like "What aspect of the event listing is incorrect?" and "Is this a mis-listing or an abuse?"

I'm all in favor of an Events listing Grammar/Spelling Checker as well. But in all seriousness, good idea Travis.

YEP I like this too. I do similar events on my land which is in a mature sim, so I can relate to Travis' concerns. Good idea!
