Improve Secondlife Closed Announcements

Today at 3:10 pm Pacific Time I attempted to log into SL. It said it could not connect. Went to http://www.secondlife.com/status and it said SL was open. Went to the forums, lots of people on, but no announcement. Why can't the Lindens improve this communication with the players?

Here it is 45 minutes passed the scheduled opening of SL (supposed to be 9:30 am game time - time is now 10:15 am game time) and yet no update from SL. Here I thought they were doing so well, yet they are messing up again.

Support better announcements from the Lindens!

It's pretty poor, isn't it.

LL, this is an online service you're running, you actually have users out here you know! When it's not online, you need to be in regular communication with them through the forum, and when downtime exceeds planned times, that needs to be very regular and informative. And when the service does come back online, you need to close out each "It's down" thread with an "It's back up".

That's not a lot to ask.

Currently, SL is up yet the last thing in Announcements is that it's taking longer than expected to come back. <sigh>
