World Menu > Set Anonymous (or Set Stealth)
This mode makes only the people on your friends list able to see your status as online.
The reason for this? Some of us just don't want to be seen online by strangers. Others have times where they do not wish to be sent IM after IM about custom jobs or tech support for those who can't read directions. Busy mode does not cut it, as it will auto-decline any item sent to you, and still shows you as online.
Very easy feature to add. Please look into it.
And yes I realize this has probably been suggested before. Do I care? No.

1. Most people who want this want to simply not show up as online to *anyone*, friends or not, see (for example) vote 983.
2. Having a bunch of different votes for the same thing makes it less likely for ANY of them to get enough votes. Which is why you should care. 3. In this case, LL has already accepted one version of this for future enhancement... but have gotten all mixed up between the "hide green dots" and "hide online status" elements of the proposal. 4. The second most votes are on vote 855. 5. The reason LL vetoed earlier proposals is because they were described as "invisible" mode and LL thought they were for people to go completely invisible so they could walk around the world and spy on anyone without anyone know there were there. |
