I was minding my own business when i chose to log on an try this "new 1.7" ...whatever...beside the long load time ..which i can get past mind you, I do want my map menu list BACK! It not easy to find places you visit when u cant spell the name of the place an never landmarked it. This kinda make me feel like im in a box an blindly guessing my way out. I liked having the list of sims to chose from just because would go an pick one an i found some cool people in places i would of never travled to. All in all ...i PLEAD an BEG.... SIM LIST PLEASE RETURN!!!

There were too many sims to keep a list like that, and as more and more sims are released, the problem would get worse and worse.. Best to try and remember to use landmarks :(

The type-in box is very helpful when you do know how to spell it. But it could be a combination type-in and pull-down box.

It would be nice, however, if there were some sort of list of every sim somewhere--

Yeah, a lot of people can't type very well.

You can, of course, always just do a "find" for something relatively unique that you know is in the sim you want, and at most you'll have to look through ten or so sims in the "find" results. Probably with the same overall speed as you'd get from scrolling UP and DOWN at length in the previous region list. :D

if your new.. an want to explore SL you'll never get the WHOLE experience without that list. Hows that for a solid argument, lol.

I wouldn't call it solid as you can still map click teleport.

But if you are just exploring, you'd have no idea what was unique to the sim.

Then what's to stop you exploring by simply clicking somewhere on the map and hitting teleport?

I thought the situation here was more of a "Oh, I went there last week..what was the name..finkel..no, furkle..no.." etc, whereby if you can remember the name of even a single shop/place in that sim you could find it again via the find menu.

But hey. I haven't played around with the new system enough to be annoyed/pleased yet, so what do I know? ;)

If the Region listing does make a return, I think it'd be nice to have a multicolumn view... there are just so many of them now, that one single vertical list is going to ask for even more trouble a few months down the road (when we have several hundred simulators more).

Maybe there'll be a Resident-created solution to this!

ok you have a point it might not be solid...but i think a list is better than a click an guess method, or even drag the map across till you see a name you wanna try

I agree... I want the list back and I think but leave the new feature too for those who do know how to spell the sim. Or at least make it so that if you type the first letter you get a list of all the sims that start with that letter!
