One the biggest problem with the LL provided sandboxes is large builds simply left standing - either abandoned for the day by their owners, or left standing as advertisement. Wipes are entirely too infrequent.
Rather than increasing the number of wipes, or the number of sandboxes - why not use a feature already ingame? Autoreturn!
If set to a reasonable value, say 4 hours, then there is more than adequate time to work on a build. The large sandbox spanning builds that now clog the sandboxes for eight hours and more would no longer be a problem. Regular users would no longer have to schedule their usage around wipe times.

Until then, find the two furNation sandboxes. 6 hour autoreturn and the boxes span 90% of each of the two sims (Furnation Vista and Furnation Omega).

Return to lost&found if you have left sandbox / logged out

As an extension to this suggestion - How about a sandbox auto-return if the owner is not present and/or if they log-out. Seems to make sense that if the owner is not actually in the sandbox working on them, theres no reason for the objects to be there, so they can be returned. BUT if I'm in the sandbox at cleanup time, I'm most likely half way through doing something - I've been working on unlinked prims (a house in one case) and then had it returned piece-by-piece to my lost and found without warning, which of course destroys all the careful positioning I spent the last hour getting right. This would also reduce the annoyances of those prims with a push script dropped into a sandbox with the owner logged out or gone elsewhere, safe in the knowledge that it will cause disruption for at least half a day or more. e.g. Do this every half hour: Scan objects and users in region: If object owner is not online or not in region - return. If owner is online and in region - dont return. The half hour scheduling would hopefully protect from most eventualities when you are forcibly logged out temporarily due to sim crash. Can't imagine many people would circumvent this by sitting idle in the sandbox for hours to stop it being removed. If they did that would be verry sad of them!

This could all be done with LSL script if we had llReturnObject(key id) See vote http://secondlife.com/vote/index.php?get_id=1016We need 500 votes for LL to acknowledge it.
