I'm not sure if its been requested since I've only sorted through a page or so , but I'd like something where you can actually stream music so only you can hear it. Personal streaming. I still have to load an external client when I'm flying around and not attached to one location.
Maybe even have a very limited range object attached streaming option. So you can make portable radios. I know this may get irritating if someone carries one around in a crowded room with other people playing music. Maybe implement an option to mute the object's stream.

That feature already exists. It is called iTunes or Windows Media Player or WinAmp or many other thing. Both SL and external personal music players happily coexist on a decent machine; the only thing that is lacking is in-SL mixing of sounds.
This is more or less what the per-parcel streaming code does anyway with the exception that the parcel, not you, picks the stream URL.

Malachi, you missed Dan's point. He *doesn't* want to use a third party client, and expressly said so. And the problem with per-parcel audio is that it ISN'T exclusive to you--it is shared by everyone on the parcel.
I personally would like to see a built-in little MP3 player built into the client interface. It wouldn't be difficult .. just have a little playlist, and have >, >|, |<, and [], plus a volume slider.

I would like to see radio stations turned into objects one could buy or sell. If you have limited bandwidth, and a decent radio station, selling access to it through SL could help you recoup the costs of running a server or even expand its bandwidth capabilities. You could attach a radio station object and have it play only on your av. You could rez it on a plot and have it set the plot's music to that station, if you have permission to change it. Making radio stations into objects one can set permissions on, would deal with the problem of people stealing URLs from each other's plot, for instance. If you want people to access the raw URL you could just put it in the description. Lots of neat stuff could be thought up to go along with this.

I like Eggy's idea.
