1) fewer blog complaint comments in the wrong blog post
2) a place to inform Linden Labs of a grid attack
3) easing the load on the Help Request service
4) a place for residents to explain problems they are still having after a grid issue has been resolved
5) a forum to deliver messages to Lindens if instant messaging is broken and Help Request
doesn't appear to be getting through
6) a place for residents to vent their frustrations within reason
I think that if this were to work there would need to be some assurance that a Linden or two would keep an eye on this forum. The Lindens would not necessarily have to respond to any of the threads. A blog post could be made stating the new forum's arrival and its purposes. Of course this forum would need moderation. Sticky notes with links to the blog would be helpful and ones that advise residents from insulting Linden Labs or its employees would be useful also.
