the original (beta?) ground textures are okay; but ll has developed some stunningly beautiful new ones as new territories have come online. please consider redesigning the original terrain textures for the core sims.

I just had a thought that allowing players to custom-texture their own land would be an awesome idea... then I thought of the textures some people might use to texture their land, and changed my mind.

that would be nice cross. it's been suggested several times. the reasoning always breaks down somewhere between "creative environment...can do anything on your own land...one av's beauty..." and "consitent, attractive landscape...overly demanding terrain generation..."
an entire sims terrain is apparently one giant, multifaceted prim that is textured in with four files applied by height ranges. in other words, the architecture makes it impossible for an av to apply a texture to their own parcel of land in a sim. therefore, i'm simply asking ll to update the original terrain textures in the core sims to make them as attractive as the ones they use in the newer sims. actually, i think the first block of southern sims (before the snow) use those same old textures. so they need updating too. _____________________

I don't like the fact that ground near water level is an ugly brown... I've been using green lighting to make my waterfall in Varney look good.
In self-interest, I would love to see them updated to the new texture. On the other hand, I realize people have been building to those colors. On the other hand, land changes hand so often that I'm not so sure too many people would really mind. _____________________

That's a good idea... but only changeable at purchase, what do you say?

I'd agree with the "only approved land textures" restriction, but I'd like to be able to change them other times, e.g. by script. I'd like to have seasons on my land.
I'd also like to be able to set alpha to 0, and set phantom to true, on a chunk of land. Then I could build a cave inside it. Neko _____________________

Well, there goes my idea to have a pair of tall, rounded hills, all with nice flesh texture and nipples.
