Someone pointed to me that that there are several names on my parcel ban list that no longer exist in find(Search->people).

These accounts may actually exist but are simply inactive.

SL may already do the following, however I can't tell.

I propose that for accounts that are deleted or have been inactive past the reactivation point that the following occur using a low-priority background task.

1. Delete all in world objects currently owned by them.
2. Remove them from all group lists.
3. Remove them from all "Ban" and "Allow" lists.

I'm not sure of any way to remove them from running scripts.
Security scripts can't just remove the names based on a "llRequestAgentData-timeout" since that seems to occur on active accounts sometimes.

I also recommend that "search->People" show inactive accounts, but indicate that the account is disabled, or inactive.

Edit: Adding "Disabled", "Cornfield", "inactive" status messages in the profile would also help people gather and coordinate information after an incident has occurred.

Only basic accounts or premium accounts with stopped payment can be considered inactive.

Several questions need answering:

1. There have been cases in other MMOGs of someone returning after 2 years. It costs almost nothing to LL to retain an account's file info. The question: What is the timeframe after which an account can be declared inactive enough to delete?

2. Inactive accounts do not own land. As such the only way that they will have any objects existing is if they belong to a group, or if they left some debris on land that has autoreturn off. Focusing on groups, some of these objects may be in use, others may even be memorials. The objects in question may be of very high value. The question: Since you want the objects deleted how will you distinguish between objects that the group wants to keep and those that can be deleted?

Ok.

Still the question stands with regard to objects. How will you distinguish the ones the group wants to keep and which they are willing to let go?

And what happens to the L$2500 car you bought from XXX, who leaves SL, and suddenly that car simply ceases to exist for everone, no money back, no explaination...

I don't think they wanted to delete objects *created* by them, just *owned* by them.

But, yeh, there's problems:

1. Textures only represented by UUIDs. They couldn't delete textures... and textures are the biggest things in inventory, so there goes the savings.

2. Objects in builds that couldn't be deeded to the group because of permissions.

I think the savings would be minimal and the disruption surprisingly bad.
