Remove/Disable abuse reporting from unverified accounts

What LL should do is just ignore any complaints coming from not verified accounts. As a matter of fact take away the Report Abuse Button altogether unless you have a paid account.

That way you can cuss em out and smack em around without the worry of an abuse report. So if they want to be treated nicely, they should be nice first. Give respect to get respect.

Not me.

Abuse is abuse. If a verified account abuses an unverified it is still an offence that needs reporting. As the victim is the only one that can file the abuse report you have to let the unverified account report.

Tell me if you like this scenario that uses your suggestion.

Unverified accounts being abused by verified accounts with impunity and for no reason. Racial insults and discrimination, griefing, personal attacks, and IP theft.

There are nice unverifieds out there and they actually are the majority of the unverifieds. Don't let griefers make you think otherwise.

Now let's sweeten the pot ... what if an abused unverified turned out to be a friend of yours from another state or country that you didn't know was in second life? You meet up one day and you say you've been playing second life and the friend replies that he or she was badly mistreated while there so didn't bother to continue.

There are real people behind unverifieds too.

If I were the service provider? I'd keep all the people who are nice. People who use abuse scare away new customers, especially new paying customers. New paying customers come from the unverifieds too.

Abusive customers paying or not also wreck my image as a provider.

terrible suggestion, sorry. as has been said, where do you think the future paying accounts come from? nothing worse than a traumatized abused newbie, they're unlikely to stick around and add to the place.

If they didn't want freeloaders they *gasp* wouldn't have opened up the registration process.

Yes, because I simply haven't entered my credit card information and/or paid for my account, I don't want the ability to report people that actually abuse and grief, and it means I'm a mean, vile person that deserves to be cussed at and abused for everyone's entertainment!
That sounds like a very friendly way to handle things.
Strangely enough, not everyone that hasn't paid is a mean, griefing, abusing, gun-shooting, agent-orbitting person.

If LL were to get rid of unverifieds, the economy of SL would crumble, because of the majority of players that are currently unverified. Most unverifieds are what keep the economy going, because they actually have to earn all of their L$ without buying any. And unverifieds are probably most creative, because they have had to work on their building skills and such to actually make money.

I think that with the amount of abuse reports LL gets, it would be good for THEM to implement something like this. Why waste their human resources on non-paying customers? People will get angry with someone and create multiple alt accounts just to AR that person...none of those alt account with any payment info.

As far as those legit players who are playing with "no payment info on file", maybe they should think about putting payment info on file at least. Then allow them to file reports...but those who have no payment used or on file, should not be able to file AR's.

It should be a benefit of "Premium Membership".

usefulness to SL doesn't always have to have anything to do with paying. i'd like to think my volunteering at the shelter, helping hundreds if not thousands of new ppl in my time, would be valuable to SL whether or not i EVER paid an actual penny into it.

if nothing else- tons of them have upgraded, bought lindens, bought land, started their own businesses, or all of the above.

yes, obviously some (most, even) ppl need to spend money in order for the businss to succeed, but doesn't mean every single one does in order to have some value.

oh, and i'd have to file the same number of ARs there whether a premium or freebie.
