I think it would be great if we could host a small one person sim on our own pc to practice building and work on clothes ect, without it being connected to the main grid. I know it would help designers and builders by giving them a place to test textures and such without having to pay upload fees for something their not going to use. Everyone else I think would enjoy it as a chance to practice building when the grid is offline.

As for testing textures and clothes without having to pay, it was brought to my attention a little while ago that you can do this using the preview grid, as L$ there are more or less worthless.. _____________________

This is rapidly becoming the most common feature request, evar. And here I thought "rounded cubes" would go uncontested.
The short answer is I don't see it happening any time soon in terms of a feature. It would take a fair deal of dev time and, furthermore, would go against their "no way to automate assets" policy. That said, I've been working on an alternative, but haven't been able to work on it since Hurricane Wilma came to town. Being without power for four days pushed me against my little writing project that's rather time based. So. For prims, the feature should be done by the end of the year. For textures, scripts, or just about anything else of use, there's not a lot I can do. LL would have to invest in such a feature and make a pretty big change in the way they think these things through before that would happen. Which, frankly, would be a good thing. _____________________
