I know almost everyone has had this problem, where certian av's in game will play nothing but sound fx drowning out the music. If your like me it gets to the point where it just pisses you off to no end. A well timed gesture can be very funny, but it seems that for some its the only way they can communicate. SL needs a way to mute sound fx. Below is a list of proposals to mute SL sound fx/gestures. If you feel like I and many others do please vote for them.

i know you can turn the sliders off, but then you can't hear the iw music unless u open up winamp. its a hastle to do all that, then of course u leave sed area and forget to turn your vol. back up. the sound fx mute option iz jus easier

I'm not quite sure that's what JG meant ^_^

There are a few audio sliders that folks dont use... take a look at em.

Anyhow, sure those gesture people are annoying sometimes...

But so are real folks getting too loud at a party... yay realism. :P

To clarify, I'm referring to a slider found in Edit > Preferences > Audio/Video called "Rolloff Factor." It should be located right below "Distance Factor" in that menu.

This option basically sets how far local audio can travel versus the volume you will hear of the sound. By moving this slider all the way to the right, you will basically minimize even the loudest of in-world sound effects to a very small area.

And no, this should not affect your streaming volume at all.
