Newbie here with some suggestions. Forgive me if I have repeated past suggestions but since there isn't any sort of search or suggestion listing anywhere I can find, I will just give it a go.

1. Make the aquisition of land clearer for newbies/potential players. It is difficult to even find a land tier price list. The FAQ is woefully scant and I have yet to connect to the knowlege base server.

2. 512 square meters is too small for much of anything except maybe a tent. The land tier system is rather daunting and complicated. I would suggest offering a more all inclusive package option on top of the annual Premium level. For instance my annual subscripton cost $72 USD yet to double the amount of land for me to build on (which really isn't much either) will cost an additional $60 a year which is almost as much as the subscription yet only gets you a tiny bit more land and no other benefits (other than more prims). That doesn't include the outragious prices for land to buy it initially in many cases. L$10,000 a month for a L$2000 lot is bad enough. I dispise reoccuring monthly charges as it is plus I wouldn't have minded paying more for the subscription if I could get more benefits. Let's say $120 USD for three times the free land allotment and twice the stipend perhaps.

3. I would like more open water that is usable. My idea would be to make underwater sims where undersea cities could be built where merpeople could live and let others explore yet allow unimpeaded surface travel for cruising and boating activities.

4. Water physics that ties in to #3. I think it would improve the overall sim experience if water acted on you like RL. To go to the beach and swim rather than walk on the bottom, limited time underwater without scuba gear or gills, spalshes etc.

5. Remote park sims only accessible by vehicles. Wouldn't it be neat to board a sail boat and cruise to a remote island or fly your floatplane to a hidden mountain lake? Someplace without towering advertisements, forsale signs and casinoes in every direction. Maybe take a Flash Gordon space ship to the moon.

That's all I can think of at the moment. They are just idle suggestions, ignore as you will.

I like the idea of better water effects. Maybe there could be a splash animation if you fall into it, and a drowning animation if you go out too deep. Realistic water would make my waterfront land much better.

Four: NO NO NO NO NO! This is SECOND LIFE because we WANT to be able to breathe underwater, fly, and never have to eat your pee or pee. Let's not ake this like TSO.

5. We have those already :D

Not only that, but the notion of a "land grant" being a grant of land rights rather than actual land is also a miscommunication. Sadly, they refuse to listen to us about land at all; it's the land that makes them the $.

That sounds reasonable.

However, as long as there are strange people out there with more US$ money than they know what to do with and they're buying up all these massive chunks of land so that they can have little playgrounds to put their total junk in, Linden Labs employees are just going to keep high-fiving one another and congratulate each other for making a profit.

In other words, the people with the big virtual real estate money are the primary market for Linden Labs, so your voice isn't as likely to be heard on this.

Two problems with this. First, the underwater land is considered "budget land" by many, and the minute underwater land becomes more useful its US$ costs will significantly rise. This would, of course, also mean that there is no more "budget land" to be had. Second, regarding boating etc., toggling the water ripple option would show that while some people might enjoy a bobbling effect for their boats, most players would find boats that go up and down in mid-air to be very odd.

Agreed as far as physics go. At minimum, you should be slowed down, and you should be forced into "fly" mode rather than just walk along the bottom. However, as far as breathing goes, the fact that we can fly and we can bump into things without getting hurt (in safe areas) already proves that natural limitations off Real Life don't apply to human biology. Heck, we can wear a full-size cabin or jet aircraft on our nose.

To be honest, when I saw that I could fly in Orientation Island I had mixed reactions... mostly of disappointment. I did think it was fun and cool that you could get up and around just about anywhere, but I was troubled by the fact that vehicles, other than for speed (which is no good anyway because of download and rendering limitations), are of absolutely no benefit except for creative display. That ripped out more fun of the game than flying did, IMO, as well as it ripped out the value of vehicles and the creative advantage of creating and selling them.

I personally would have liked to have seen scripted teleportation and scripted movement come at a cost, whether in L$ or in something similar to land's prim limits.

The only uses you can think of for vehicles ar for transportation and for display? How limited!

Um, no. I didn't say for transportation. I said for speed. There's a difference. If we couldn't fly so fast then vehicles would matter.

I dunno, you don't have to make all water the same just like you have safe and unsafe areas.

5. We have those already :D

Somewhat but not really, I can easily walk there or fly myself. I'm talking about a half hour trip by plane or an hour by sailboat.

Have you looked at submerged land prices? I have and I can tell you they are no bargan. The most expensive piece of land for sale right now is a tiny submerged lot. Anyway, who cares? Making it useful is a good thing.

I suppose I've learned recently underwater parcels have as of lately become useful for building things that are more secluded from things on-shore.
