This would be an option to select all faces in a selected group that have the texture of the next face that I click on.
For example, I have 20 roof panels in a complex building. All of them have one texture for 'asphalt shingles' on the top faces, a different texture for the edges, and a third texture on the underside for a ceiling texture in the room below. I would like to be able to select the 20 items, or select linked sets with them in the sets, and after clicking on a texture editing option, be able to click on one "shingles" textured face and in so doing select ALL the faces in that selected set that show this texture. Now, replacing the 'asphalt shingles' with 'cedar shingles' should replace just that texture on all 20 roof panels, while leaving everything else alone.
Another example would be being able to change the inside face of all the doors in a build, when you realize you forgot to put the doorknob on the texture for that face. Had to do that recently for a build with 14 or so doors in it... and had to camera through the entire build, changing them one or two at a time.
Now imagine that I had used a specific texture for the edges on all those doors. I decide I want to change the door texture from brown paneled wood to Chinese red metal. With this option, I could do it in three actions... Without it, at best I would have to select just the doors in the build, texture all faces at once to match the new edge texture, and then work my way through the build, replacong the front and back textures on each door... Uff.
