When you point at something (outside edit) this annoying little - object name / Owner - popup comes up, highly annoying when you trying to play games like Bingo/Tringo (bet this is old news huh) When you are in edit mode, you wont get this, would really like to see a option in preference to turn on/off this hoover over object info thingie, its annoying

It never really occurred to me that the tool tip might be annoying, but there have been a few times that I wished I could toggle it off. Good idea.

that would rock socks.
there's a way to make it totally invisible in the colors.ini file but yeah an option would be nice.

Something tells me that this could reduce the load on the asset server too.

I agree, the popups are annoying at times ...

I agree, the popups are annoying at times , mostly everytime they pop up.
I have tried changing the colors for the popups in the colors.ini file, but so far as I can tell, that doesn't really work. I suspect it stopped working when they added the tinted background to the chat, at which time the background color for the popups changed in opacity and shape. If someone else can get the colors.ini technique to work for the popups I would like to know how.

Oh come now, the thing is like ten pixels (figurative!). Nothing to complain about.

Annoying... YES. Mostly the popups hover just long enough to obscure what I was trying to look at but not long enough to fetch the information from the asset server and display something useful.
I'd prefer a mode to control the hoverbox display, or better yet a key that would activate it while the key was pressed.

Not to mention that (paraphrasing from memory) "Object / Owner: Somebody / Script Money Right-Click for Menu" was baffling to me as a newbie and is less than helpful once it does make sense.

From: Olmy Seraph I'd prefer a mode to control the hoverbox display, or better yet a key that would activate it while the key was pressed. BUMP I played Tringo for the first time yesterday (thanks for the invite, Soj!), and that stupid hoverbox kept getting in the way of my card. I'm shocked that with the number of Tringo games going on (1000s a month maybe), that people haven't descended on LL with pitchforks and torches demanding this be fixed right now. HOVERTEXT HOTKEY NOW!

I've said it before: the pop-up info text should only come up when you hold down the control key and hover the mouse over an object.
There when you need it. Not in your way the rest of the time.

New in 1.6 - CTRL-SHIFT-T turns off mouseover hoverboxes. Sweet!
Now for the hotkey...!
