I'm surprised that LL never thought of this. I have had a few problems with trying to spawn an object close to my friends and ending up with my item being added to their inventory.

Recently when I was about to spawn an item to show a friend what I had spent hours building ended up being given to someone who happened to randomly walk past just as I let go of the mouse button.

It would be great if the SL client had an option in the preferences that, if wanted you can have a confirmation box open asking if you really want to give an inventory item with yes and no buttons. Having an option in the preferences menu for this confirmation box to be enabled or disabled will be good.

e.g.
Having it disabled for sellers that do not use vendors so that they don't have to keep clicking yes every time they sell something.

Having it enabled for people that do not give out many things or just want a confirmation for passing something to someone. It will be very useful for people like me who may have had the same problems with giving an item to someone by accident as is would allow you to cancel the give inventory.

I hope this made sense :)

I've been on a real strict crusade against bad English recently and I had to say something. This one guy on another forum responded to "stop being rude" with some improperly spelled, punctuated, and capitalized (i.e. lack of all three) rant about "they learn the lanugage and can't bother to use it right" or something like that.

quit being a smart alec!

And you should quit being rude.

its so true! it is so bloody true!!!!! people learn teh language, they learn how to spell it properly but they dont understand it!!!!!!!!1

(if you cared)

Oh, and on your suggestion, yes, that would be a great idea. Or remove the drag-and-drop onto avatars other than yourself for giving inventory and just make it only done through the profile. For the people that sell stuff personally, yes, it's an extra click or two, but it saves a lot of issues elsewhere.

How about having it only drop inventory onto a character's label, not the avatar? That would avoid the "invisible wings" problem which can even, apparently obscure a label!

I wonder if this feature has even been acknowledged by LL. Hmm :/

That would be REALLY not real then; your sentence needs an adverb, not an adjective.

I have not had this problem Wolfie. It may be because I tend not to create things where there are a lot of people around. However as an Interface Design person I'm not generally in favour of adding extra clicks to the interface for confirmation purposes. I would imagine that if such a thing were to be introduced, I would turn that option off.

Heh, thanks. I'm not perfect with my typing or spelling either (they both suck), but I do my best.

A confirmation box for this would be nice.
It can be a problem if someone is nearby, wearing a giant invisible prim (such as a parachute or wings), and all you meant to do was put something on the ground.

I've also mistakenly right clicked on someone (and offered friendship) once, due to a parachute, but that's another story. ;)
