I find it inconvenient for new users trying to get into SL, and they sign up for the free trial, only to find out that they can't run SL... so that basically wastes their free trial.
It would be nice for people looking to get into SL to be able to download a test client to see if it will run on their computer before signing up.

Well, system requirements ARE clearly stated... but hey, why not.

Just because a computer meets the minimum requirements doesn't always assure that it will run the program.
Not to mention not everyone who owns a computer knows what's inside of it. Sure, if they don't know what's in their computer maybe they shouldn't be using SL, but it's a reality.

I endorse this idea/feature.
Would help alot of people who don't know computers backwards and forwards.
Edit: Plus, some people have computers that they may think are *under* system requirements yet could still run SL, or their system isn't listed as a unsupported or supported type. So LL might even get more users if they add a tester in some cases.

This could be useful but I get the feeling LL is too busy to worry about it. I dont know how hard it would be to do though.

Yes i agree they are probably too busy to tool around with something like this, but the viewer is already there, you just need some local content on your computer to view, or connect to a speciall LL test sim.
