When I'm beboppin' around and checking out the sights, every time I point to something there is a small popup window that briefly shows some basic info about the object or land that my cursor is pointing to.
Sometimes this featured is handy. But other times it really gets in the way of other types of experiences here, like when I am in a place where I just want to experience the natural ambiance of the build -- like a park or ancient ruin. i don't want a whole mess of little info pop ups springing up every time I move my mouse. Especially if most objects are left with little to no description, like "Object - (No Description)."
Could this feature be made optional as a checkbox in my preferences? If I could turn off the autoshow feature of the info and tie it to a user action... like holding down the Option key as I point to something... that would be cool.
Right now when I hold down the Option key my cursor changes to a magnifying glass, but that tool does not do anything until I hold my mouse button down and drag, enabling me to zoom in and out. As an option, I'd like to be able to disable the autodisplay of basic object and land info and be able to make that info visable, as needed, by pointing to something and holding down the Option key (cursor would turn into a magifying glass). Like I'm going to be examining it in more detail. The tool would then proceed to work as always when I continue holding the Option key down as I click and drag my mouse (zoom in and out).
Having this ability would make certain types of experiences more immersive.
Thanks!
