Hi all.

We are in the process of launching a new service for SL called SLAuctions.co.uk.

We have interfaced the sign-up into the world so that the process is more aligned to SL as we are keen to make the service into a virtual auction house with live auction events.

We are not attempting to run before we can walk (in terms of the SL interfacing) and so will roll out the SL services as we are happy with them.

Trading is done in Linden $ - as you would expect and all (eventual) fees will be also charged in Linden with the objective being that all the financial aspects will be handled inworld to make the experience more "virtual".

The web side of things is now live with free listings for all during our launch period, we welcome any category suggestions and ideas to enhance the service.

I will add to this thread as soon as I have a terminal made that doesnt look like a bannana gone wrong :)

If anyone wants to have a test drive (so to speak) please visit our website and excuse the (soon to be deleted) test items....

Many thanks

Erwin

Sounds like another commercial venture that has its place in SL along with most of the other ventures. I wish you luck, great concept.

I wonder if anyone is going to start a SL version of the Antiques Roadshow... I have a pair of 2004 wings that have been passed down from alt to alt..... ;)

Many thanks for your kind replies.

Work is now 99% complete on the web based systems, we have interfaced the user sign up completely to SL and are working away on the in-world systems now.

Thankfully though - this doesnt affect the roll out of the main services, we have decided in order to garner interest in the service and to allow people a "test drive" that we will abolish all fees for a period whilst we get it together.

Its planned to have live auction events on our Island - and stream the auctioneers live responses to the bidders, obviously a bit of work to do but we'll get there!

Currently also being thought about is in-world bidding, listing and viewing of catalogues.

Thanks again for your support - we look forward to trying to make this an interesting SL business that people will have fun participating in.

Would be good if signups was enable, when you click on signup you have this link > http://www.slauctions.co.uk/#

Hmmmmmmmmmm isn't it better to advertise a working site, or at least a site that is complete.

Thanks

Hi and many thanks for your response.

I think you have found a web signup link - which is not supposed to be operational in this versionof our software - instead we have implemented in-world signups for greater integration.

However I will now go and edit the offending page and remove the hash - once again many thanks for the update.

The testers obviously missed this one :)

EDIT >>

Hey I realise where you found the link now :)

You got me! I was implementing an X-Terminal button replication for ease of navigation and had not got around to making the corresponding page - thats now being fixed.

If you IM me when you sign up I will add some credit to your SLAuctions account as a thankyou for spotting this!.

<< END EDIT

Best regards

Updates & Bids now in-world
01-24-2007 08:15
I have now created an Bid Board in-world that monitors the bids as they happen, this increases the inworld value of the service as we promised - we are also updating the terminal to allow for increased usability.

We have delayed the full launch of the service a little (days not weeks) so that we can introduce bidding inworld as a primary resource.

I am looking to introduce the SLAuctions terminal to inworld locations with suitable incentives to those who host - either paid space or incentive based and would welcome anyone who has an opportunity to dicuss terminal placement.

Previews can be seen at http://www.slauctions.co.uk

Cheers

Erwin
