If you are a fan of flickr, you can now easily share your SL snapshots with both Snapzilla and flickr. Registered users can enter their flickr upload email address on the new Control Panel page. Once your email is entered, you can send new images to Snapzilla and flickr at the same time by using flickr@slpics.com as the address. This will send the snapshot to both sites, including the title, description, and any tags. Existing snapshots can also be sent easily to flickr. Just look for the icon on the snapshot detail page to send the image to flickr. This icon will only appear if you have entered your flickr upload email address, and only on your own snapshots. This is a brand new feature - if you experience any issues with it, please let me know. To get started: 1) Make sure you are signed into Snapzilla 2) Look for the Control Panel link on the left hand navigation, in the section beneath Search and Quick Find. 3) Enter your flickr upload email address and click on Update or hit enter. You only have to enter the address once - you can update it at any time if it changes. 4) Send any images you want to go to both sites to flickr@slpics.com 5) If you want to send an existing image from the site to flickr, go into the snapshot detail for the picture and look for the send to flickr icon - it is directly next to the delete icon. If you do not see it, make sure your address has been entered and that you are on the page of a picture you have submitted. That's all it takes - the subject, description and tags will be sent through as well.

Can no longer post to snap ...
11-24-2006 07:00
Hey, Cris, thanks for the continue innovation! I actually haven't been able to post a single pic to my Snapzilla account in months. Following an SL update I began to crash everytime I tried to do this. Many updates later, still no joy. Submitted bug reports to Linden Lab and have asked for help on a number of occassions through various channels and remain unanswered. I know other people were having this problem as well. Was there ever any insight on whether or not this is fixable/a workaround is available? Thanks a bunch,
Sue.

Sue.Sue, I have heard of some other people crashing at various points in the new snapshot screen, though I don't know how widespread it is. I unfortunately don't know any workarounds. The usual advice of latest video card drivers and such applies here - though actually, I have sometimes found that going back to an older version of the driver can help. Also, have you completely removed SL and reinstalled it? That also can help sometimes with obscure problems. I'm sorry you haven't been able to get any support for this problem from LL.

Thanks, Cris

Cris, I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled the client from scratch several times (no joy), but it hadn't occurred to me to roll my graphics card drivers back. I update them frequently so that they are always current, and it's possible that this might be the problem.
Just wasn't sure if you'd had other people mention anything along the way, and I really appreciate you sharing the tips. I miss being able to post to snap. The pics that other people post there have been the thing that gets me off my arse and out exploring the grid and lead to some of the coolest finds. You've done an excellent job of cultivating a tool that's not only fun but intrinsically useful, and this new innovation with the double hit with Flickr is great!
Thanks a bunch, Cris.

Trying to understand advantages of photo sites
08-15-2007 06:37
From: Cristiano Midnight If you are a fan of flickr, you can now easily share your SL snapshots with both Snapzilla and flickr. Registered users can enter their flickr upload email address on the new Control Panel page. Once your email is entered, you can send new images to Snapzilla and flickr at the same time by using flickr@slpics.com as the address. This will send the snapshot to both sites, including the title, description, and any tags. What is the advantage to keeping duplicate sets of pictures on two different sites? Why would you use both Snapzilla and Flickr? And what about Picassa? I am trying to figure out which one is the best place to host my SL pictures. I want to create a visual inventory of items that I can browse without having to be logged into SL, and I'm not sure what is the best product for that. Pictures that I post to my blog by default go to a Picassa album (I use Blogger). Is it best to just keep everything in one place (Picassa), or does other of the other photo sites (Snapzilla or Flickr) have better features for my inventory project, or a better SL interface? All of the pictures will be taken within SL, and then uploaded to one of thea photo sites. And then there is Photobucket, too, but I don't see too many people using that one as much for SL. Appreciate any feedback, Princess Ivory
