Putting the Fun in Functionailty
"A lot of great stuff is coming out of Etech this year. I didn’t make it out to the conference, but I can’t wait to catch up with Jerry to hear all about it. Amy Jo Kim, Creative Director for ShuffleBrain, posted her presentation titled “Putting the Fun in Function”. It outlines 5 important game mechanics for social games, which are perfect for games in Second Life where social interactions are at the heart of everything we do. I was thrilled to see that our entry in the 2005 Game Dev Contest, Riddle City Ransom, hit all 5 points. Riddle City Ransom is a social networking game that requires the player to go on a quest to find 8 riddles which are broken up into pieces.
