An uneasy peace exists in Lestern City. The bloody Hedonist rebellion ignited by the sudden rise to power of the Puritan Political Party has for now subsided. Puritan and Hedonist leaders agreed to what many consider a fragile peace agreement to lay down their arms and coexist. An agreement many believe was forged by righteous indignation, lust for power, and lies. An agreement that virtually ignored the average citizens of Lestern placing them in the middle of an never ending war of misguided ideological dogmas.
The Puritan laws which sparked the rebellion still stand today. Act 0:69, which bans sexual contact unless for the sole purpose of procreation within a Puritan sanctioned marriage. Act 1:44, which bans the possession of firearms by citizens, and finally Act 2:02, which outlaws the manufacture or consumption of tobacco products. Although these acts were incorporated into the peace agreement, they continue to fuel civil disobedience among the remaining Hedonist population. The Shogo and Slaughterhouse factions are said to have gone under ground continuing their activities in secrete and in direct violation of the peace agreement.
Peace is merely an illusion. The power hungry wield it like a sword of justice to manipulate the hopeless. The hopeless hold up it as shield to protect them against their own ignorance. Cling to your illusions. Never abandon hope.. you'll need them to survive the streets of Lestern.
