Flying V Productions,a group of radio and media professionals has announced the formation of an Internet Radio Station geared towards the Cyber Life game known as Second Life. Creating a totally professional and realistic radio station for game players.
The radio station will be the first of many launched by this group and will include pertinent in game news reported by a professional news department, Live Djs broadcasting from within game, doing live remotes and having giveaways as well as in “virtual studio” guests and concerts.
“The station will not only keep the Second Lifer entertained, it will keep them informed and at the forefront of new technologies and developments from within the game” said Eric Potts, spokesperson for the group. “We already know that Second Life has numerous radio stations that broadcast within the game, we want to be sure to develop a station that remains true to Second Life and develop such programming that people will tune in daily to be informed and entertained.”
The station which will be known as Sitting Duck Radio or SDR (www.sittingduckradio.com) will be a Rock format playing everything from Classic Rock to Modern Rock. “As we get bigger, we envision opening up other stations which will allow us to broadcast to the different musical tastes, we just felt initially, the Rock format had the biggest draw within the game.’ said Potts.
“We are lucky enough to be involved with some very well known people in the Radio Industry as well as in the Voice Actors community.” said Potts. “The people that are involved in this project just amazes me and I’m extremely excited just to be associated with them.”
The radio station is expecting to launch in April 2007.
