                | Wildefire Walcott Heartbreaking Join date: 8 Nov 2005 Posts: 2,156 | 09-24-2007 10:33 There are several new Second Life-related forums that were set up by former members of the now deceased Second Citizen forums. Here's a quick run-down: DUCHY OF DARKMEREhttp://duchyofdarkmere.freeforums.org/index.php Run by: Lucifer Baphomet and Peasan Kuu Software: phpBB Summary: This forum began life a few weeks ago as a place for residents of Caledon, Clearwing, and Neualtenburg (sp?) to engage in their roleplay involving the fictional Duchy of Darkmere. There is a group of subforums dedicated to this RP, but there are also several subforums related to Second Life, Eve Online, and off-topic/drama. The forum is open to anyone, but moderator approval is required. This is also currently the place to go to discuss drama currently happening on other forums. SECOND SURVIVORhttp://secondsurvivor.com/SecondSurv/ Run by: Fatz Schlefo and Coyote Momiji Software: vBulletin (same as Second Citizen) Summary: Fatz and Coyote just set up this forum last week. It's still in its formative stages, and they're actively taking suggestions to help shape the experience for members. This is a general-purpose SL forum, with subforums dedicated to Classifieds, Technical Help, and general chat. ZENCITI SL FORUMShttp://lucidmovement.com/forum/ Run by: Neil and Nephilaine Protagonist Software: phpBB Summary: At about a week old, this nascent forum is dedicated to Second Life commerce and technical matters, wish some general chat and fun subforums thrown in. SLUNIVERSE FORUMShttp://www.sluniverse.com/php/vb/ Run by: Cristiano Midnight Software: vBulletin (same as Second Citizen) Summary: Hey, SLUniverse isn't new!!! Oh, but these forums are! If you haven't visited the SLU forums in the past couple of months you probably don't know that Mr. Midnight has completely revamped them with an all new interface and much better forum software. Even if you had an account at the old forum you'll still have to create a new account at the new one. At this time, the SLU Forums are certainly the most busy 3rd-party SL forum, and you can currently find the biggest concentration of displaced SCers there. A lot of former SC lurkers have finally outed themselves there, so you'll see a lot of new faces too. |

I have nothing to do with those places, so skipped. SECOND SURVIVOR Ran fleeing when I saw it pop up. gah. Mmy eyes bleed. Have no idea what is in the threads, just fled from the setup look. ZENCITI SL FORUMS I'll look again. Did not make my eyes bleed. That: "Most users ever online was 15, 10-04-2007 at 08:22 PM" was off-putting though. Sorry. SLUNIVERSE FORUMShttp://www.sluniverse.com/php/vb/ I'll give it a shot, maybe, someday. The look, though, reminds me of TV.com (have no idea what TV.com looks like now). Have bad memories from TV.com.http://forums.slhomepage.com not bad. Clean. Nobody there though, it appears.

Well, I can't really say I am surprised that they are gone given the penchant in there to be immature and intolerant but I am curious what happened? Implosion? |

Well, I can't really say I am surprised that they are gone given the penchant in there to be immature and intolerant but I am curious what happened? Implosion? The moderator lost his heart for it. There are immature and nasty people on every forum- SC just didn't moderate very aggressively, making it feel a little more wild-west than other places. But some of SL's most talented and respected residents read and posted there. They have since dispersed, leaving the SL forum scene fractured and unsatisfying. Even though SLU is now the biggest 3rd party board- and a fine one at that- this forum gets a lot more traffic now in terms of message volume, even though there's officially not even a general discussion board here anymore. When SC was at its peak it got more traffic than this or any other SL forum was getting, and despite the drama, some really great and memorable times were had there. R.I.P. |

I am not new to any onlines forums (having been online and active in numerous communities since 1996) and I realise there are immature and nasty people everywhere. I am well aware of who posted in SC as well since I read it often and posted every so often myself Thanks for the reply. |
