Announcing the launch of my latest project: Million Linden Prim!

Check out the website at http://www.millionlindenprim.com

It was a crazy idea when that English kid tried it out in RL, but now he's more than paid for his university education! I figured that doing something like that in SL could be fun, too! I've got some plans and I hope you'll be willing to follow along and see if it could fly. Why not?

I made special updating prims so you can see an updated image of the website from in-world. You can get them for free, and if everything works out then you too could have a copy of a prim worth L$1,000,000! :)

I really want to make this as fun of an experience as possible for everyone involved, so please check it out!

It would only be worth $1milL if it was completely unique - if you're planning on making COPIES, it's not unique and therefore isn't worth squat.

Well of course, I didn't mean to say that each free object would be worth that much, now that I look back I can see how that could be understood that way. My bad! The idea is that the objects could potentially have something that took L$1mil to create while still being free. Hopefully there's enough interest to create such a paradox. I think it could be kind of neat.

Does that clear things up?

I saw that, and the paperclip traded for a house thing. Unfortunately, now there are going to be thousands of copycat schemes and it'll get dated, fast. :)

I think the term you're looking for Flipper, is "Jumped the Shark". As in "Quoting Austin Powers movies has jumped the shark 3 years ago."

But I'm all for the entreprenurial spirit, so I'll contribute to the effort as soon as I can.

Good luck Mendel Oz - I hope you make that one million Lindens - and that sharks with lasers attached to their heads are not involved.

Updates!

Million Linden Prim has been updated!
Lots of updates today, check out the blog for:

* New advertisers
* Site updates

I'm off to a pretty good start with the advertisers, but more importantly the ordering process has been greatly improved. So if you've held off because you didn't want to trade notecards back and forth you'll love the new form-based system!

Check it out :) http://www.millionlindenprim.com

Thanks :) It's a really ambitious project that is starting to take up some time but this kind of encouragement makes it that much more fun and rewarding.

Please don't blame yourself, the process is a lot better than before but I still feel it's not quite there. I'm kind of building the plane as it flies so to speak :) It's hard to see what works and what doesn't right now. Tried to find you online but you weren't there but throw me an IM if you catch me online.

I would like to purchase an ad as well but cannot figure things out. Will you be able to fit my graphic into the space that I buy. Please contact me so that I can get my pixels purchased.

Your basically copying someone else's idea and just changing it a little bit .. which is kind of stupid.

Why not get a piece of paper and a pen and try thinking up your OWN unique ideas? Rather than copying someone else? You'll have more success with an idea that you have come up with and is entirely unique .. then copying someone else.

The Time and Placement of an Idea is as Important as its Uniqueness.

I don't agree with Jade. Most things in SL simulate or emulate RL. If he is trying to build a millionlindenprim webpage or prim , I don't see the fundamental difference between that, and say building a Bank in SL, or a House!

Just, because an idea is not unique does not make it less important or remunerative. ;)
There are 330,000 registrations in SL and Mendel came up with the idea of using the RL concept here.More power be to such entrepreneurs ! :)

Keep at it mate. Hope it works :)
