using the secondlife name is why, it is trade marked and ll frowns upon using it. (now somebody correct me if I am wrong, just giving my jist of it)

Nope. You got it right. LL is very clear on how they protect their trademarks in relation to naming websites on the linky above.

i look at one the sticky and i didnt see anything about that. it clear the some thing are register like "Second Life". but dont go too far out there. in my case, i use "sim" for anything i do but that is because i dont deal with second life as such. would you be happier with the title "Something Something 24 hr" and you find out it is raisin washers?

come on, lets play nice. if there is a problem, let legal figure it out.

on the other hand, i was put of by libsecondlife as it move to change to something else. so maybe the current crew at LL are frowners.

i decided to check again the registered trademarks. once again, its not one that would cause any problems.
