brace, i'm so sad to here all this. but i completely understand where you're coming from. i wish you all the happiness in the world. in whichever world you choose.

i find it ironic that at the same time LL are asking for more mentors, greeters, and others to help noobs, they are also pushing away some of the best people who have done an amazing job doing just that. you brace, are one of the best!

I totally agree with you and posted a dismissive post about the idea, which got a one line excuse from lindens in their hotline forum

It is a tragically stupid idea to cancel the variety, freshness, interesting and attractive information in the classified forums for a stale, unsuccessful, overpriced and frankly UNWANTED fee paying Linden advertising vehicle.

No one except the Lindens wants it. They are unconcerned. Whoever is the idiot who thought up this instant way to demoralise a huge segment of players should be sacked.

It's one of the things i least like about LL, the ability to simply ignore the entire weight of player opinion and do some stupidly selfish negative thing that everyone except them can see is a complete waste of time.. always the big foot in the mouth

Whatever happened to Important Basic Feature Improvements including improving the outdated 5 year old AV Body Appearance system to Poser standard?

What happened to the 'see for miles' graphical visions we were shown of Havok Engine? Instead we got moral crusades to please American businesses.

I know it doesn't make any difference, but the in world preview classifieds are much improved than the ones in 1.6x... Find function etc, and catagories..

So sorry to see someone who has done so much feel that way. I totally agree with everything in your blog and have been having the same feelings myself. I have already started to tier down my things and closing my unsuccessful little shops.

The greedy and unresponsive nature of LL has definitely taken the joy out of playing SL.

Nice blog Brace. I read all of the entries... I've been playing SL 8, going on 9 months now and thanks to people like you I've been learning what SL is all about, especially behind the scenes. I'm a fairly new designer, 4 and a half months now...I've done photosorcing and drawing--usually both, in my creations...(I had never used photoshop either...matter of fact, a friend of mine showed me how to use one of the eraser tools yesterday and id been doing it the hard way all this time!!!)...

Anyway, hats off to you for always wanting to help, being honest, and giving people the encouragement that one can be successful in this virtual world
