Does "no transfer" on houses REALLY mean that you can't rename the owner or someway copy & give to someone? I guess you could give them modify rights, but original owner still owns? Sorry I'm still a newbie!

How does anyone feel buying property & previous owner can't transfer houses he was supposed to give you in the deal, but says you can use & rent out, but still in his name? Isn't this somewhat risky-what if he just vanishes or something?

Also when you say trees come with lot-do you usually just leave trees & rename owner or do you remove them & give to person (then you might not get as many & landscaping ruined).

One more thing I am wondering about-is when you buy covenant land estate land-do you usally get made a member of group for the neighborhood & is it on an individual basis neighbors giving access to property so you don't constantly be running into the red ban lines?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Houstonian,
Usualy with the trees theyusaully transfer. But if not trees are easy to find and alot out there.
The Private Estate Sims are run by individuals. Each with own set of rules. Not all require you to join a Group. But depending on the way the sim owner is set him/herself up they sometimes require Group membership for management reasons. The red "Ban Lines" are a huge problem usually associated with Mainland. Most Covenants restrict "Red Tape". But it varies among Private Sim owners.

I'd say a Landowner who doesn't know he can't give you a non transfer house is either shady, or a dullard. I'd say no transfer is a pretty concise term to me.

That's right. "No transfer" means "no transfer". You cannot, under any circumstances, give it to somebody else. It is non transferable property.

Correct.

I wouldn't be happy if the prefab was worth more than a few hundred $Ls. If he said the house was yours as part of the deal then he misled you because he knew the house was no transfer.

You can't "rename an owner". You have to take ownership of the item. Make sure the trees are transferable (right click edit, examine the modify/copy/transfer permissions) and if they are and the land was set to transfer objects upon sale, then they would automatically become your property (ie. you would be listed as owner) upon buying the land.

Some estate owners choose to deed the land to a group *you* created (the old fashioned way), others choose to set the land in your name. Ban lines suggest neighbouring landowners are limiting access to their own personal group or have outright banned you by name. I'm sure that's unlikely though.

Some estate owners don't allow ban lines so if you get sick of them and decide to move, you might want to look into that. :)
