If there's one question I hear most often, it's this: What is a Neko, and how did Nekos start appearing in Second Life? Allow me to humbly answer your questions on my Virtual Neko blog: http://virtualneko.com/2008/09/14/the-history-of-neko/Hope you enjoy! Stacia Villota The Virtual Neko

Sorry... This does not get close to the history of "Neko" in SL.
It would help if you asked someone, preferably a neko, who was born a year before October 2004 (the age of the Neko on your page who gives you the "history" details).
What about the Neko explosion of 06?
SL started with a handful of Neko's. If you are going to tell a history about them it has to include Fleabite Beach, Jhannis Fairlight, and a few others that make up the first few neko's of Second Life.

You probably already noticed this by now, but my blog post was not a history of Second Life's Nekos. It's a history of Nekos in general... with Second Life being just one of the more recent evolutions of that history. I would absolutely LOVE to interview some of the first Nekos in Second Life... in fact one of them was my first Help Island mentor. But sadly, when I tried to contact a few of the first ones to add their perspective to my story, no one returned my notecards. So you're right, Fa Nyak was simply one of the "early" ones, and in this case, the only one who was kind enough to return my message. If you can get one of the originals to contact me, I'd love it... that would make an excellent story! Stacia Villota The Virtual Neko

From: Imnotgoing Sideways We're getting replaced by fauns anyway. (T_T) awww.. I think there is plenty of space and avs for fauns (is there a manga based version name of faun?), Neko, Inu, Kitsune and whatever other morphs you can think of.
