Im haveing a lot of problems scanning.

So many sims just dont respond or dont connect.. or cause my connection to just drop.
Some sims seem to litterally be blackholes :(

I'm living in a blackhole... I'm living in a blackhole...

(Maia is not on the list too... and I live in Maia. Nice work though).

The one use for this I would be interested in is mapping parcels which are bad for vehicles to traverse. Ultimately I'd like to see a full grid map with nasty parcels shown so so those of us who still try in vain to enjoy vehicles on the main grid know how to cross regions without getting griefed one way or another.

Just a thought, at any rate. :)

Just seeing how many parcels are banned to the public would be interesting by itself.

I will be hopefully putting on some of the parcel infomation on the map as well.

Im considering redoing the drawing component, try to get a better map, I can see some lines that shouldn't be there.

Very cool!

One tiny glitch though - it seems the parcels are north-south flipped in the scans?

A minor thing, please don't let it detract from my overall impressed-ness!

Updated the system
New maps look like this now:
http://zoronline.com/grid/Porto%20Alegre.jpg

Its a lot slower, but it looks better.. and shows a bit more.

I redid the system and deleted all the older maps.

Then SL teleportation started acting up, and kept eating my bot.

Iv got it scanning now.. at least for the moment :)

Iv been doing a bit more work on this.

Maybe some time ill make it dump the infomation to a database and make an actual site.

It seems a bit more stable now, and its also putting html infomation - or atleast a bit of it.

Looks a great.... and must take a lot of effort, well done for this.

Anyone know where there is an upto date SL map is located, I want to use it to apply map pins of locations I have visited after downloading it onto my PC?

I havent heard anywhere where you can get an uptodate map, you can request images of a sim, id also assume that its possible to fetch a listing of sims though http, but i am not sure how its done.

Yes, it would be another bot.

And bot are not bad, this bot uses about 20% or less resources a normal user uses of the sim it is located in, and only uses those resources for under 30 seconds, then idle as it draws.

The maps that are overlayed are the same ones that are displayed on the map.

My main concern is one of privacy. I actually don't have much issue with your site in its present form, as you would have to already know what sim someone lived in to find their land. If it was searchable by Avatar name, it would bother me.
