SL Sexuality survey

Hi,
I was wondering about various things like how many avatars are not the same gender as their RL Persona, RL ages and how sexual habits in SL differ from RL habits so I put together a survey to ask. The survey consists of 9 questions and you can see all the previous results when you complete it.

No personally identifiable information is collected and this survey is totally anonymous. It is not sanctioned or approved by Linden Labs and is only done to satisfy my curiosity.

it was nice being able to see previous results.

I was disappointed, I was hoping it would really ask me about my kinks, something really Kinseyian. Being able to see the results was cool though.

The question about multiple avatars... Was it about alts or shapes? (o.O)

Well i did this survery, mainly because of the OP's honesty in "to satisfy my own curiousity" .. interesting.

Well hell, I learned I'm not a freak.. Something good did come of this!!

Thanks for this Sandy... I always wondered how many AV's were really the same gender as in RL.

We'll be the judge of that.

You can start by listing your kinks.

One of the better surveys I've seen. There aren't enough replies yet to be statistically significant, though.

On the "expanding the relationship" question, I'd like to see responses for email, phone, and in-person meetings.

I'd also like to see the gender information broken down into males playing males, F-->F, M-->F, and F-->M.

Really interesting survey, it gives you a small glimps of whats strolling arround in Second Life .

Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I enabled filtering so if you go back to the results you can filter your view to show how many F --> M M-->F etc.

ooooooooooo now I want to tease girls so they will admit they are guys

123 RL Men responded. 42 of them said they were never or seldom the same gender as they are in RL... So they appear to be female in SL..

102 RL Women responded. 97 of them said they were usually or always the same Gender in SL. so they appear female in SL

This would suggest that for every 139 females in SL, 42 ( 30% ) are RL Guys.

Similarly 5 out of 102 RL Females said they were never or seldom the same gender as RL and 82 of 123 RL men were usually or always male in Sl so...

It suggests that of 87 Male avatars 5 (only 6%) are RL female.

Of course, this is not a scientifically conducted survey and the sample is very small but i thought it was intriguing...

Seems like if you see a male AV chances are the RL person is male.. if you see a female AV, 3/10 are really guys...
keep those answers coming!!!.

That's a lower percentage than conventional wisdom would imply. ^^

I hate to bring this up, but there are those who don't play Male of Female avatars. If you are playing a squirrel or a robot or a box, gender may not be a consideration at all; the avatar might be Null.
