It's quite an eye openner to read other peoples/gender experiences when starting SL for the first time. Easy to get caught up in the moment with vivid aluring sentiments. SL certainly is more than a simple interactive chat room, it's a variable and growing community where international and gender borders do not really exist. A place to explore your inner wishes and abilities without the full rigors of RL. Easy to simply 'go with the flow' or create a new unexplored dimension. Certainly when I joinned SL, and no doubt many others along with me, it could have been considered 'easier', I remember <goes into remenicent style voice> when most of SL was all blank server space , there was potentially more emphasis on communicating like a glorified chatroom, than trade commerce, events, yard sales, and many of the gender/cultural centers one now sees and enjoys.

For as long as I do not sigh a dull sigh when clicking the connect button, SL creates a level of escapism and potential exploration, for my inner self. Lovely read
