I've added a new feature to the SLTrivia.com sponsorship options. In the past, we didn't have any way to budget for sponsoring. Now, you can choose a cap on the number of impressions delivered per day. I've updated the sponsor information page found here:

Sponsorship: How does it work?
The servers and bandwidth used to host the SLTrivia.com database, pass data in and out of Second Life, and maintain high scores costs real money. To keep SLTrivia free, we sell ads (sponsorships) that appear on the trivia prim. Once every ten questions (each question lasting about a minute), the trivia prim will switch the sponsor banner and remind those playing to help keep trivia free by visiting our sponsors. That time period - about ten minutes - counts as a single impression, and costs just L$5 (or about one and a half cents).

This is a guaranteed method of advertising; every L$5 you spend will guarantee you ten minutes of advertising time when people are actively engaged in using SLTrivia. It also allows you a great way to get your product or service in front of the eyeballs of many new residents. SLTrivia is located at over 40 spots across the grid, including The Shelter, and near the GNUbie Store in Indigo.

Many sponsors have chosen to include freebie packs for those that click on the trivia object banner area. The script only runs when people are within the twenty meter chat range, so sponsors are only charged for impressions when people are actively using the trivia game, and also so the script doesn't tax the simulator server when people are out of playing range. This isn't like a banner ad on a web site; it's being shown to people who are currently actively playing trivia and can see and hear the prim!

You can also choose a maximum number of impressions to deliver daily, if you're on a budget. For example, if you set the limit to be 20 per day, that would cost L$100 per day, for 200 minutes of "air time."

To get started, I need sponsors to provide a few materials:

- 512x256 texture, full modify rights (so I can get the asset UUID)

- a notecard with your avatar key and a sentence promoting your business

- either a URL or up to two SL items (landmarks, notecards, freebie pack) which will be handed to people when they click your logo; any items must be full-mod, but feel free to let me know of any restrictions you'd like me to set up for permissions

Once your ad has been set up, I provide sponsors with a prim they can keep to easily track how many impressions they've purchased, and how many have been delivered. Additionally, you can "re-charge" your impressions simply by paying the prim like a vendor.

Thanks you for the interest! Feel free to contact FlipperPA Peregrine in world if you have an questions.

Thanks again to everyone who's sponsored, helping make SLTrivia a fun, free-to-play, popular attraction across Second Life.

Regards,

-Flip

On your website page linked above it says "once every 7 questions" the sponsor banner will show: "The servers and bandwidth used to host SLTrivia.com and pass the data in and out of Second Life require a monthly fee. This is being offset by sponsorships. Once every seven questions (each question lasting about a minute), the trivia prim will switch the sponsor banner and remind those playing to help keep trivia free by visiting out sponsors. Many sponsors have chosen to include freebie packs for those that click on the trivia object banner area!"
