Sydney Harbour as it was in 1808 - a convict port and settlement - a military outpost on remote open waters. First discovered in 1700 by Captain Cook in the HMB Endeavour, the First Fleet arrived in 1788 with her human cargo of convicts.

The port recreates those first 20 years as we build and repair tall ships, recieve cargo and deal with convict labour in the court room & cells. Our port shows the best in SL tall ships, all in one place! Brave navy, pirates and privateers use this port to launch their SPD ships for sea battles.

Captain William Bligh, infamous for the mutiny on the Bounty, is now the Governor of this here port - and in 1808, old Sydney town held a military coup - the "Rum Rebellion". Bligh, or as we called him, "that Bounty bastard", got it into his head to change the way we did business. Because of a lack of coinage, Rum literally became the local currency. All trade was controlled by the military, hence their name - "the Rum Corps". Bligh decided to change all that, so the Rum Corps arrested Bligh!

Sea faring as it was in the 1700s-1800s - here be civilians, merchants, convicts, pirates, privateers & navy. Challenge other ships to battle or show their Letters of Marque. A warning shot across the bow is the challenge to fight, parlay or surrender. Any pirates captured can be locked up waiting trial in the court house - one week's notice of the pending trial should be posted to the Harbour Authority, together with charges and outline of evidence.

Our tavern is aptly named the "Rum Rebel Inn" in honour of the Rum Rebellion - come join in the fun! The sim is called "Sydney Harbour" and our website is http://www.gaiagirl.com.au with a special section on Pirate RP - Enjoy :)
