We've just launched a freelancer project web site for Second Life users. New Second Life users, and often even longtime residents, have an idea or project that they need a little help with. At My SL Project (http://www.myslproject.com) anyone is welcome to come and post their Second Life project for free to be matched with people that can help them. It doesn't matter if a project is as simple as a logo tee-shirt, or as complicated as the development of an entire island sim. Post what you need and your project is matched with people who then bid on your project. Project starters then review the bids, ask questions of the bidders, and select one they want to go with. An escrow system is built in to the site to make the transaction safer for both the client and service provider.
If you'd like to help out some other residents and make some money while you're at it, you can sign up as a service provider and start bidding on projects that match your skills. You don't need to be a scripting guru, anyone with even just the basic Second Life skills is likely to come across a project they can help with. As with posting a project, registering as a service provider and placing bids on projects costs you nothing.
Aside from the the freelancer project area, please also notice that we have put up a free forum area for Second Life groups. This has little to do with the project matching focus of the site, but we saw it as something that some might find helpful. If you have a Second Life group and would like to have a web-based forum for group discussions, news, announcements, etc., we just need your group name and group manager's name. We'll then put up your forum for you and give the group manager full administrative rights to the group forum. You can have your forum open to the public or choose to have it only accessible to your members. Again, this is free, just ask.
We hope that My SL Project will make it easier for people to find help for their Second Life projects, and give interested people of all skill levels a chance to help others and make a bit of income.
Thanks for reading and I hope you'll check it out.
